What is Employees Provident Fund Organization ?
The Employees provident fund organization (EPFO) is a statuary body. EPFO is established by the EPF and miscellaneous provisions Act,1952. It’s under the Labour and Employment Department, India Govt.

On 1st October 2014 to allow provident fund (PF) number portability the Govt. of India starts Universal account number (UAN). In addition to this, The Universal account number (UAN) is a 12 digit number assigned to every employee.
Further UAN number helps to transfer and withdraw EPF balance in a simple process. In addition to this now employees can withdraw their Provident Fund (PF) without the approval of the employer. UAN:
1 अक्टूबर 2014 को पीएफ नंबर पोर्टेबिलिटी को सरकार को अनुमति देने के लिए। भारत में यूनिवर्सल अकाउंट नंबर (UAN) शुरू होता है। UAN प्रत्येक कर्मचारी को बारह अंकों का नंबर असाइन किया जाता है, जो EPF में योगदान दे रहा है और यह एक कर्मचारी के जीवनकाल के दौरान होगा। यह नौकरी बदलने के साथ भी नहीं बदलेगा। यह हस्तांतरण करने में मदद करता है। अब कर्मचारी UAN पोर्टल पर लॉग इन करके भी अपनी निकास तिथि(PF EXIT DATE) डाल सकते हैं। अब कर्मचारी नियोक्ता की स्वीकृति के बिना अपना PF निकाल सकते हैं। आप यहाँ क्लिक करके UAN सदस्य पोर्टल पर पहुँच सकते हैं।
